Girls Betsy Ross Child Costume
Practice your sewing skills and your patriotism in the Girls Betsy Ross Child Costume. Betsy initially worked in the upholstery business repairing uniforms and making tents for the Continental army in 1779. She later became a flag maker and changed the format of the six pointed stars on the flag to five pointed stars. This Betsy Ross ensemble features an elaborate red white and blue dress. The top of the dress is blue with white stars. There is a white center panel with red criss cross ribbon detail with blue and white star peplum. The lower portion of the ensemble is an attached red and white vertical striped skirt. Included with the dress is a period style red, white and blue cap. To make this ensemble even better, consider purchasing a small American flag, and a period style wig. This ensemble is perfect for a historical school presentation or to utilize as a Halloween costume.
