Wholesale Halloween Costumes Announces Summer Scholarship Winner

Matt Shanley

For Wholesale Halloween Costumes’ Summer scholarship, a meme contest was held. Several punny, creative and downright hilarious images were submitted, and going through the entries was as fun as can be imagined.

Wholesale Halloween Costumes is proud to announce 20-year old Kerri Neymeiyer as the winner of this contest! She’s a student at Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids, MI, and she studies illustration.

To get a better idea of Kerri’s life and inspiration, Wholesale Halloween Costumes conducted a quick interview with her. To the right, you’ll see her and below, her award-winning design!

Where did you get the inspiration for the meme?

I had a lot of fun looking through the photos on the website and seeing what associations I had with the characters! Most of my ideas came in the form of movie quotes.

Are you a big Wizard of Oz fan?

I wouldn’t necessarily call myself a Wizard of Oz fan, though my best friend is! I would call myself a fan of babies in adorable costumes!

What are your hobbies outside of school?

I enjoy reading books; I’m on a bit of a Stephen King kick at the moment. I enjoy playing the piano, writing and eating good food.

What are you going to be for Halloween?

Luckily for me my college throws a huge Halloween party every year. This year, I plan on going as Cinderella!

Congratulations, Kerri! Put your award to good use, and good luck at school and with your future career in illustration.

For anyone else interested in entering to win a $500 Scholarship, the next one will be a Pumpkin Carving Contest. We are looking for imagination, creativity, and humor. YOU could be the next recipient of our scholarship award. The deadline for submissions is November 4, 2015.
