After his horrible car accident and permanent damage to his hands, Dr. Stephen Strange makes his way across the world to Kamar-Taj to learn how to heal himself from the Ancient One. While he arrives expecting to be greeted by an elderly monk who will teach him the ways of healing through meditation and osteopathic medicine, he is instead thrust into a world of ancient dangers and sorcery and interdimensional travel. The Ancient One opens Strange’s eyes to the evil approaching the world in the form of Dormammu, and he’s quickly off on a journey to learn as much as he can as quickly as possible.
Although Dormammu is the penultimate evil the sorcerers of Kamar-Taj face, their most important battle is with Kaecilius, the fallen angel of the Ancient One’s order. Kaecilius plans to transfer the power of Dormammu’s realm – the Dark Dimension – into our world, to allow us to all live forever. This would essentially destroy the world as we know it, and it’s up to Strange to stop Kaecilius and his disciples. However, he’s been touched by the Dark Dimension and is much stronger than Strange anticipated. His interaction with the Dark Dimension has caused his skin to crack and dark energy to seep in, giving him his signature look, the look we recreated here!
