First, remove your shoelaces. You may choose to keep the white ones that came with the shoes or swap them out for yellow ones that match Pikachu.
Next, place painter’s tape along the sole of the shoe to keep that white and fresh to death.
Cover the top and tongue of the shoe in yellow acrylic paint to mimic Pikachu’s yellow fur.
Once dried completely, you’ll want to draw on Pikachu’s facial features. If you don’t trust you freehand skills, try this tip! Download our free Pikachu shoes template and lay it face down. Outline with a pencil over the shapes you plan to transfer. Flip it over and place it on the shoe. Outline the shapes of the template again. This should transfer the graphite you added to the back of the template onto the shoe.
Use a fine tip paintbrush to paint these facial features onto the yellow canvas shoe.
Once that layer is dry, add a white dot in acrylic paint on each of the black eyes and a pink tongue on the mouth.
Once dry, remove the painter’s tape.
Cut (4) pieces of yellow felt in the shape shown. Paint the tips black with acrylic paint.
Sew or glue these ears onto the canvas shoe as Pikachu’s ears.
Re-lace the shoes with the yellow laces to match the paint.
Your DIY Pikachu shoes will have you looking the very best, like no one ever was!
