In case you missed it, “The Donald” has finally taken a backseat to Ben Carson according to recent poll results. This isn’t to say Trump’s popularity has completely faded. He’s definitely still out there trying to persuade America that the state of the country is not great, and somehow he is the answer. After his lackluster performance in the 3rd Republican debate his reputation as a blockhead is growing- just like this LEGO costume made in his likeness.
Whether you love him or hate him, there isn’t much debate about his ability to entertain us. This DIY costume is nearly as entertaining as the man himself. If the LEGO version isn’t quite your style, we show you how to DIY the real life version of the costume here.

BUILDING THE LEGS
Step 1. Follow the instructions to build the legs here (instructions here). Before step 26, use a ruler and a white paint marker to add stripes to the cardstock. Since this costume uses black foam core, you can omit the steps for the card stock pieces for the sides of the legs.
Step 2. When the legs are done they will look pin striped.
BUILDING THE BODY
Step 3. Follow the instructions to build the body here (instructions here). Since this costume uses black foam core, you can omit the steps for cutting card stock pieces. Skip ahead to the last steps on the superman costume to see how to attach the back piece to the costume.
Step 4. To create Donald’s shirt, place a piece of white foam against the top of the costume and mark it with a pencil.
Step 5. While holding the foam against the body, mark a giant triangle with the pencil. Cut out the triangle.
Step 6. Hot Glue the foam triangle on the Lego body.
Step 7. Using a ruler and white paint marker, draw lines, about ½ apart on the body.
Step 8. When done, the body will look pin striped like the legs.
Step 9. Using the collar template, trace and cut out the collar out of white foam.
Step 10. Add the adhesive velcro to the ends of the collar.
BUILDING THE HANDS
Step 11. Follow the instructions to build the hands here (instructions here).
Step 12. Paint the hands skin tone. I mixed Burnt Sienna brown with white.
